Below are several activities/ ideas for the upcoming weeks to continue our K1 Curriculum from our Shadows and Reflections Unit. Week 1: Week Ending March 3/20

Hello K1 Families,
Next week we will begin OWL, Unit 5, Shadows and Reflections. Centers for next week: Art Center- Reflective Paper Collage: Creates two-dimensional artwork. Builds finger dexterity and uses thumb/forefinger in pincer grasp. Explores and experiments with dry media to create artwork. Children use reflective and non-reflective paper to create a collage. Science Center- Looking in Reflections in Bubbles: Observes and explores materials in the environment. Investigates and describes states of matter. Performs tasks that require fine-muscle control. Block Center- Using Flashlights to Create Shadows: Interacts with others appropriately by cooperating, helping, sharing. Uses language to develop and maintain relationships. Explores special relationships. Children will build various structures and use flashlights to create shadows. Writing Center- Blank Books and Writing Tools: Writes for many purposes. Indicates own writing or pretend writing conveys meaning. Creates original artwork to express thoughts, feelings, and energy. Children will write and draw freely in their blank books. OWL Songs: Open Shut Them, Looby Loo, Clap Your Hands, Apples and Bananas, Come On and Join in the Game and If You're Happy OWL Poems: Five Little Fishies, My Big Balloon, Windshield Wiper, Ten Little Fingers, Hands and The Little Turtle Religion- St. Patrick Letter- Aa Number- 5 On Wednesday, March 11th K1 will walk to St. Brigid Church for a visit and to sing songs with Miss.
