April is quickly coming to an end and the month of May is a busy one. Please see the following dates; more information on all activities will be coming soon. Enjoy April vacation; April 17-21, we will see you all on April 25th.

We are on OWL, Unit 6 --Things That Grow. Centers for the week are:
Art Center--Printing with Vegetables--Children will explore and experiment with wet media to create artwork, they will explore the use of patterns and symmetry in artwork and experiment with basic shapes and lines in artwork. Children will use a variety of vegetables to paint.
Science Center--Categorizing Seeds--Compares materials using appropriate language. Compares the characteristics of a wide variety of seeds. Sorts objects into subgroups that vary by one or two attributes.
Math Center--How Long--Can You Dig It--Children learn to directly compare objects of the same and different lengths. Children use comparative terms to describe the length of objects. Children will use inch worm rulers to measure a variety of objects.
Writing Center--Write the Room-- Children will use white board and markers or clip boards/paper and pencil to write words found in the classroom. Children will understand print carries meaning and they will show an interest in trying to write familiar words.
OWL Books--The Ugly Vegetables, The Lion and the Little Red Bird, Clap Your Hands and Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain.
OWL Songs--Down By the Bay, Looby Loo, The Wheels on the Bus, Apples and Bananas, I'm a Little Tea Pot, Barnyard Song and Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes.
OWL Poems--Buttercups and Daisies, My Shadow, Raindrops, Cloud, Mix a Pancake and the Little Turtle.
Religion--God Gave us Friends
