Weekly Update for Week Ending 3/4

Hello K1 families,
Next week we will be on week 4 of OWL, Unit 4.

Important reminders
: Students will attend Mass at 9AM on Friday March 4th- it is important that your child arrives to school on time.   Friday March 4th is a half day. Dismissal at 12:00 noon.  There is no lunch needed unless your child is signed up for extended day (*please sign up in advance).   

Centers for the week:

Dramatic Play: Students will take turns acting out different roles (ex. customer, postal worker) at the Post Office. Students will act out buying stamps, mailing letters, making special deliveries and stamping letters. Students will become aware of the roles, responsibilities, and services provided by community workers.

Art Center: Still- Life Painting. Students will create two-dimensional artwork.  They will explore and experiment with wet media to create their artwork.

Writing Center- Letter and Post Cards. Students will write their own letters and postcards.

Math Center- Memory Number Game. Students will develop skills in number recognition, reading numerals, and counting.


Religion-- "God Gave us Water'' from our Religion series "I Am Special"
Letter of the Week-- Ss
Number of the Week-- 7
Personal Safety Curriculum-- Traffic Safety: Following safety rules help keep children safe. Children should cross the street safely by looking in all directions first and holding hands.

Tuesday-- Religion "God Gave us Water", Music Class
Wednesday-- Gym
Thursday-- Library with Ms. Teresa
Friday-- Students will attend Mass at 9:00 AM,  Show and tell for the letter S. Half day dismissal at 12 Noon~No lunch needed unless signed up for extended day. (*Please sign up for extended day in advance).
