Help children measure their height with a tape measure. Discuss the numbers on the tape measure and standard units of measurement or 2. Look at the page where the Mallards were flying high in the sky. Why do you thin the cars and trees look so small? Science: Take a nature walk and observe and explore different things in the environment. Dig in the yard and find and observe worms and snails. Use magnifying glasses to observe the parts of plants and flowers. Math: Comparing Capacities: Explain that capacity is the amount something can hold. Fill a container/pitcher with water. Use different size containers, bowls, cups, water bottles etc. Observe the different sizes of the containers and have your child make a prediction, which container will hold the most water and which container will hold the least amount of water and why. What does your child notice about the amount of water in each container. Vocabulary: compare, different, capacity, least and most. Number: 11 Have children practice writing the number 11.
