Hello K1 Families,
The Spring concert is next Wednesday, May 11th. The shows are at 1:00 and 6:30. Children need to come to school on May 11th dressed for the concert--Spring clothes--their favorite Spring outfit.
Children who normally leave at 11:30 are invited to stay the day on May 11th. Please make sure children have a lunch/drink in addition to what they bring for snack. For any family signed up for extended day on May 11th ; extended day will close at 4:00 on Wednesday, May 11th. Children may be dropped off in their classrooms at 6:00 (no earlier) for the evening performance. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We are on OWL, Unit 6--Things that Grow. Centers for next week are:
Science Center--Planting Seeds--Children will observe the characteristics of living things and describe the physical properties of objects. Children will be planting seeds.
Math Center--Measuring--Children will measure lengths and widths, compare same or different lengths and widths. Children will use links to measure each other.
Language Arts--Garden Goodness--Observes and identifies the characteristics and basic requirements of living things and how they grow. Children will color, cut and glue pictures in sequence to tell what happens after a seed is planted.
Writing Center--Write the Room-- Children will use white board and markers or clip boards/paper and pencil to write words found in the classroom. Children will understand print carries meaning and they will show an interest in trying to write familiar words.
